The threat of the hospital closing down was already there before Monica (Leslie Charleson) was attacked by the Derisifol killer and Sabrina was strangled to death, but now, following their attacks, the day has come for the facility to close its doors on General Hospital.

The board has voted to close the hospital's doors until the murderer is caught, and now, they are all packing up their desks in preperation for the heartbreaking event.

"I'm sorry Dr. Hardy," Epiphany (Sonya Eddy) says to his portrait in a preview clip for the Wednesday, September 21 episode. "We tried."

The attacks have claimed five lives total and put others in jeopardy, like Monica, as well as other staff members-including Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), and Bobbie (Jaclyn Zeman) as well. Now, a still recovering Elizabeth is dealing with not only her injuries, the news that Hayden (Rebecca Budig) is actually her sister and could now be headed to jail because of her, and the fact that she's going to be out of a job. But Franco (Roger Howarth) may also have to break some horrible news to her-that Sabrina is dead, something she may not be able to handle hearing.

"I don't think that I could handle losing anything else," she says in the clip.

Meanwhile, everyone else is preparing to leave the hospital behind as they are forced to leave because of the closure, and the fact that it is being closed down again will be shocking, especially to Maxie (Kirsten Storms), as she runs into Griffin (Matt Cohen).

"I can't believe all this is happening," she says in the clip.

However, Griffin may be less concerned about the current drama since he was at the courthouse when the verdict in Julian's (William DeVry) case was read, and he was devastated to learn that his father's murderer was getting away with the crime.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday ay 3 p.m. on ABC.
