His character was killed off more than a year ago on General Hospital, but it appears Robb Derringer has found himself a new home on Days of Our Lives, and has joined the cast in a new role which is set to debut early next year.

According to Derringer's IMDb page, he is portraying the role of Scooter Nelson on Days of Our Lives next year, a role which was announced earlier this year.

According to Soap Central, Scooter is a male between the ages of 35 and 40 who is a handsome, eccentric, elitist math professor who loves sex a bit more than the average person, and the role began taping in September. It has not been revealed how much else of a role the character would play on the show and who he would eventually be hooked up with in a story line, though there is a chance he could have interaction with the teens on the show, who all began college in recent months.

In addition to the role call and change on IMDb, Derringer himself seemed to confirm his new role back in September, when he shared a photo on Twitter of himself and fellow Days cast member A. Martinez, sharing news that the two were celebrating a reunion.

"Othello and Cassius together again! Had a wonderful reunion today w/ A Martinez one of the most talented & true hearted people in the business," he captioned the photo.

While on General Hospital, Derringer initiated the role of Special Agent Kyle Sloane, who came to town to investigate Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), and managed to get her unseated as the Police Commissioner and take over her job. However, not long after, he was fired and replaced by Grayson McCouch, who's time in the role saw Sloane and Anna get intimate. He then disappeared off the canvas on a mission for Nikolas Cassadine, and when the character returned, Derringer once again took on the role because McCouch refused to return simply to be killed off, which happened quickly when Paul (Richard Burgi) killed him for his abusive past with his daughter Susan.

An exact start date for Derringer's new role on Days has not been announced.
