A glimpse of the future is coming back to Disney Channel, with a new That's So Raven spin-off in the works at the network-with Raven-Symone returning to star in the series once again.

The series was announced today, and will see Symone return not only in a starring role again as Raven Baxter, but to also executive produce the show. She will also be exiting her gig on ABC daytime talk show The View in December in order to work on the series.

The currently untitled spinoff will see Symone's Raven now as a divorced mom of a preteen son and daughter, one of whom has inherited her ability to see glimpses of the future, something that often got Raven into big trouble on the original show, which ran from 2003-2007. The casting process for the kids is currently underway.

It is unclear if her fellow co-stars from the original show will reprise their roles on the new series. Orlando Brown and Anneliese Van der Pol starred as her best friends, while T'Keyah Crystal Keymah, Rondell Sheridan and Kyle Massey starred as her parents and brother, Cory, who had a brief spinoff, Cory in the House, from 2007 to 2008.

This spinoff will be the second one on Disney Channel, which previously revived 90s sitcom Boy Meets World, with a spin-off called Girl Meets World. That show follows Cory and Topanga as parents of a teenage daughter, Riley, and has found success on the network.

Spin-offs and revivals have become a much stronger concept in television entertainment in recent years, with Disney Channel and Netflix seemingly leading the attempt to bring shows of the past back. Netflix aired the first season of the Full House revival, Fuller House, earlier this year and is scheduled to premiere a second season of the show soon. They are also premiering a special four-part mini-movie series this November, Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, which picks up nearly 10 years after the popular CW series came to an end.
