HTC, the Taiwanese company, made several flip-flops with its flagship products by overpricing and under delivery in specs and features. Will the latest smartphone, Bolt, bring back the fortune to HTC? We will find out in our exclusive review.

HTC shot to fame in 2010, after launching EVO 4D, world's first phone credited with adapting faster wireless technology. HTC is once recognized as a favorite brand after Apple and Samsung.  However, poor specs and limited features bundled with outdated technology and over pricing dented the sales and brand image.

One of the reasons it is christened as "Bolt" is because it can deliver download speeds of up to 450 Mbps on 4G LTE, the fastest any smartphone can offer. And, the strategic tie-up will Sprint will bolster the speed over its network in major cities.

Born out the same design as HTC 10, Bolt, a 5.5" phablet with Super LCD display of 2560 X 1440 (534 ppi) that equals to Pixel XL. It is IP7 dust & water resistant with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5, asper HTC. Bolt is embedded with Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 2 GHz speed, supported with 3GB RAM and 32 GB of storage, expandable to 2TB. Bolt is launched out of the box with Android Nougat 7.0 with HTC Sense.

Coupled with optimal image stabilization, the 16MP rear camera gives best shots for photo lovers Selfies couldn't be better with its 8MP auto-focus front camera, as reviewed by Android Authority. Users benefit from Full HD 1080p video recording and HDR images that back low light photography. One of the biggest disappointments is HTC battery apart from its Qualcomm 810 processor. With an average battery of 3200 mAh, the battery can't withstand for one full day, though it comes with a Quick Charge 2.0.

HTC bolt was officially launched on November 16, 2016, with a price tag of $600 in the US. But, HTC has not learned from the mistake of over pricing and under delivery even in this product. With low specs and high price that of Google Pixel and Samsung Edge, we hardly can find any takers for Bolt.
