‘Scandal’ Season 6 Spoilers & Air Date: Teaser Video May Hints Major Death, Will Mellie Become President?

"Scandal" is set to return to television next year, and a lot of revelations will happen, most especially the announcement of the new President of the Unites States. Aside from that, a teaser video hinted that a major character will die in the season.

In "Scandal" Season 5, Mellie (Bellamy Young) teamed up with Jake (Scott Foley) in her attempt to win the presidency. The two were up against Frank (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) and Cyrus (Jeff Perry).

According to Mobile & Apps, the synopsis for "Scandal" Season 6 revealed that the new President of the United States will be announced and Mellie and Olivia (Kerry Washington) is already feeling the pressure to win the elections. It was said that show creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes decided to take this direction as many fans are curious as to what will happen in Mellie's attempt to win the sit.

Talking with Entertainment Weekly, Rhimes revealed that "Scandal" Season 6 premiere will begin on election night. However, she added that the season won't be focusing too much on the election. With that, fans should expect more intense scenes in the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, GameNGuide reported that the teaser video for "Scandal" Season 6 also hinted a major death in the show. Someone was placed inside a body bag and upon seeing who is inside the bag, Olivia can be heard saying "Oh My God!"

There were speculations that Quinn (Katie Lowes) or Huck (Guillermo Díaz) might be inside the bag. The promo showed an explosion and it was revealed that Quinn and Huck was near the scene. As of writing, it is still not clear as to who is inside the bag.

Another thing fans should expect in the upcoming season is about Marcus (Cornelius Smith Jr.). In the short teaser, he can be seen getting intimate with an unknown woman.

"Scandal" Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on ABC on January 19, 2017.
