Singer Miguel accidentally injured a fan while performing his hit-song Adorn at the Billboard Music Awards 2013 Sunday night.

The 27-year-old r&b sensation hit the stage at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas in all white singing his heart out. Towards the end of the performance, Miguel was seen jumping into the audience in which his full body landed on a few random fans. Yahoo reported that one girl who is identified as Khyati on the singer's twitter was hurt and was seen with her head down.

Miguel took to his Twitter account to apologize to the fan who was hit, indicating that it was a mistake.

"Got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay," he tweeted moments after the incident.

Adorn was released in the summer of last year. Miguel was joined by a number of other musical artists at the awards which included Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj & Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars.

In an interview with Billboard before the awards show, Miguel said that he was excited to be performing.

"I'm always looking for something that I haven't seen before," he said. "[Also] something that's going to make an impact [by] using simple elements but creatively so it makes people think a bit."

The singer recently collaborated with Mariah Carey for her new hit-single Beautiful, in which he described the American Idol judge as a "mastermind."

"Mariah [Carey] is, she is so fast. Her mind is is extmrely sharp," he said of the singer. "I didn't really know what to expect, how involved she would be creatively but ... she was really behind the vision of '#Beautiful' being a duet between her and I. The video went with all of that."
