Hassan Whiteside is one of the go-to-guy for the Miami Heat this season. But, rumors are now swirling that he is being linked in a trade deal and allegedly could be heading to the Portland Trail Blazers before the trade deadline.
The Heat continues to struggle in the early going of the season. Many believed that with their current situation, their campaign is in jeopardy this early and they will not make it to the post-season. And to prevent a disappointing season, many are suggesting to trade away some asset and get a valuable asset in return.
And the asset that the report is pointing to is no other than Whiteside. Having established his name to be a potential superstar in the near future, many teams have shown interest in acquiring him and one of those is the Trail Blazers.
According to The Inquisitr, the Portland Trail Blazers weakness this season is their interior defense and badly needs a big man to man the middle. Having Hassan Whiteside will surely solve this problem immediately aside from reinforcing their franchise future.
It will also assure them that they can compete with powerhouse teams like the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs in the tight Western Conference division. However, the Trail Blazers must give up a superstar of their own as counteroffer for Whiteside. And now, reports are saying that the potential trade offer is C.J. McCollum.
McCollum could give the Heat an exciting player and a terrific shooter to build around in the future as per stated in the report. Though there are still minor details to be discussed, analysts believe that both teams can make this trade deal work.
FOX Sports also floated the idea that Miami Heat are considering of trading Hassan Whiteside to other teams and possibly will be active on the trade market before the trade deadline. And then again, the Trail Blazers is most likely the best destination for him.
The report also revealed that Whiteside considered the Trail Blazers as his second option during the free agency last summer which means it will not hard for both parties to agree to certain terms if ever the trade pushes thru.
