She was sure she would get to finally reunite with the husband who believes she is dead and live her happy ending, but after seeing Chad (Billy Flynn) kiss Gabi (Camila Banus), Abigail (Marci Miller) is more determined than ever to leave Salem and the life she had there behind on Days of Our Lives.

Andre (Thaao Penghlis) wasn't able to convince her to stay, and after realizing how keeping the secret about her being alive also hurt J.J (Casey Moss) because of his relationship with Gabi, Abigail realized it would be best for everyone if she left, with no one except for J.J., Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), Andre and Dario (Jordi Villasousa) knowing the truth and keeping it a secret for good. But leaving will also mean she will have to say some painful goodbyes to the people she loves, like J.J. and Jennifer, who will be devastated that they have to lose her again so soon after getting her back .

However, before she can leave Salem completely, Abigail won't be able to resist going to DiMera Mansion one last time so she can also say goodbye to her son, Thomas, who she knows she has to give up if she leaves. And while she says goodbye to him, it could lead to the thing she had hoped for all along, when Chad walks into the room and sees her there, holding their son, and very much alive.

Meanwhile, Abigail's departure also means she'll miss out on another big moment, as her family members all gather for the annual tradition of putting their name ornaments on the Christmas Tree. And while most of the family still believes she is dead, making the putting of her ornament up bittersweet, they will also have to deal with Hope (Kristian Alfonso) not being there as well, making the celebration bittersweet for everyone.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
