Their family is no strangers to controversy because of the many scandals which have enveloped them in recent years, but now, the Brown family from Sister Wives could be facing something a lot more normal that could still shake them up a bit.

In the show's most recent episode, Meri gathered her parents, Meri and Kody Brown, as well as Christine, Janelle and Robyn, up at Christine's house to share a big announcement with her family-that she was gay.

And while the family's reactions weren't aired with the episode, according to Starcasm, they will be next week, and the announcement could be one which brings new tensions in the family.

"During the preview for next week's episode, Mariah, Robyn, and Kody sit down to discuss Mariah's big news. They agree they were blindsided by the announcement. Meri begins to cry while she questions Robyn's support and excitement. Kody clarifies, 'We're not happy Mariah's gay; we're happy Mariah knows herself,': the website notes. "The preview clip continues with Meriu admitting, 'I thought I knew my daughter. I didn't.'"

Mariah has since taken to Twitter to voice how much she has loved the support she has gotten from fans, though her family's support isn't mentioned.

"Wow okay y'all making me cry with your support. Thank you thank you thank you thank you," she wrote.

Her father, Kody, hasn't appeared to mention the news on social media at all, nor had Robyn, both of whom discussed the continued story about Meri being catfished.

However, Meri and Christine have both alluded to the news on their feeds, by talking about the announcement in general.

"My heart is beating fast! And I know what that announcement was!" Meri wrote.

"Oh the secrets that get told in my library," Christine commented.

Janelle however, has outwardly spoken up with support for Mariah, saying she would love and support her.

"We love and support @mariahlian. She is our daughter. Love love you Mariah!" She wrote.
