It's no secret that Barb (Shannon Purser) and her unfortunate fate became one of the biggest topics of discussion about Netflix's Stranger Things, but will she (or her memory) be back for season 2?

The #JusticeForBarb hashtag continues on Twitter all these months later, with many Stranger Things viewers still unable to get over the death of the quirky fan favorite. Part of the injustice comes from how few other characters seemed concerned with the fact that Barb had died throughout the first season.

So will Barb finally get justice in season 2? Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy spoke with Variety recently about whether Barb would return for the new season in some eway.

"The Duffers [Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer - Writers, directors, and co-showrunners of the series] and I are like 'No, no. She's dead.' We saw a like slug coming out of her throat. There's no coming back from that but I will say her memory and the search for justice for her is a part of season two," Levy teased.

The Duffer Brothers had no idea that Barb and her death would become such a huge pop cultural moment when they were writing the series. As a matter of fact, few of the cast and crew expected the show to be such a hit all around the world.

"I went to Manila last year; there were people camping outside the hotel, crying, and literally hyperventilating. I was like, 'Why do you like me so much? I'm just boring old Millie,'" star Millie Bobby Brown (who plays Eleven) told Entertainment Weekly.

Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin, added, "I always joke around with the Duffers, 'Why couldn't you make the first season just okay?' It's like how they never expected Barb to be a hit - they never expected the show to be as successful."

Stranger Things will be back for its second season this Halloween on Netflix.
