Now that Walking Dead fans have had time to digest last night's shocking episode, it's time to check out what goes down in next week's season finale.

So, a hugely anticipated death occurred last night, and if you don't want to read the spoiler, just skip to the season finale promo.

In a battle of the alpha males, Rick murders Shane after discovering his former partner was hell bent on being the only man in Lori and Carl's life. So how did it all go down? Well, after Rick persuades to Shane to put down the gun that was pointed at him, he pulls out a knife and plunges it into Shane's abdomen. Rick's son Carl then shows up and Rick is forced to explain what happened moments ago. The child then pulls out a gun, aims it in Rick's direction, and fires. As it turns out, Carl was gunning for zombie Shane and kills him to protect his dad. Poor Shane dies twice.
