Maksim Chmerkovskiy underwent surgery Wednesday after injuring his calf, and he has been documenting his road to recovery.

Chmerkovskiy posted a photo on his Instagram page of himself at the hospital, flashing a smile and a victory sign. In his caption, the Dancing With the Stars pro wrote "Gettin' un-broken," and hashtagged Seeds Orthopaedics, a medical clinic in Ashtabula, Ohio.

While he did not indicate whether he had completed surgery or was about to undergo a procedure, Us Weekly is reporting that he had surgery on his injured calf muscle.

Chmerkovskiy is partnered with Glee star Heather Morris on this season of Dancing With the Stars, though the actress had to dance with a replacement on Monday, Alan Bersten. Chmerkovskiy could only watch from the stands as the judges critiqued Morris and Bersten's dance, ultimately giving them a 30 out of 40.

Meanwhile, Chmerkovskiy's fiancée, Peta Murgatroyd, is in Los Angeles rehearsing with her DWTS celebrity partner, Nick Viall. Murgatroyd posted a very adorable photo on Instagram of their son, Shai Alexander, wearing a "Daddy's little guy" bib and wishing a "speedy recovery."

It remains to be seen if Chmerkovskiy will be able to get back in the ballroom to dance for the remainder of this Dancing With the Stars season. If not, the show will go on and Morris will be dancing with Bersten, but the naturally competitive Chmerkovskiy will just have to watch from the sidelines.

Dancing With the Stars season 24 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
