Dan, Brandon and Brian saw thier chance at love wilt away in Monday's episode of The Bachelorette.

With two groups dates and a single one-on-one date, Desiree Hartsock had a chance to grow closer to some of the guys while also finding out a bit of deal braking information.

The episode started off with a group date where the men got a chance to play one of the most competitive of all school gym sports - dodgeball. After a little training from the National Dodgeball League, the men split into two teams and took the field in an all out competition to win the tantalizing possibility of extra time with Desiree.

After two rounds of four-on-four compition, Desiree decided all the competitors were winners and everyone headed out to the after party. Well, everyone except Brooks, who wound up taking an unexpected ride to the ER after badly breaking his finger.

While Brooks recuperated at the hospital, Brad reviled that he has a young son named Maddox who he has been raising alone after a rocky relationship with the child's mom. Chris, however, took Desiree on an impromptu trip to the roof and received a rose for his efforts.

Kasey scored the only one-on-one date of the two-hour episode. Unfortunately the day got off to a rough start when Desiree received a distressing phone call from host Chris Harrison. It turned out that one of the men was not, in fact, on the show for the right reasons.

Brian's girlfriend, Stephanie, made an appearance at the house and reveled that Brain was still dating her when he left to film the series. Apparently he had claimed he was going on a "business trip" and slept with her only two nights before leaving for California.

Desiree remained surprising calm and collected through the whole discussion, and made the decision to ask Brian to leave the show immediately. After Des asked the competitors as a whole if anyone else had any secrets, she departed on her ill-fated date with Kasey.

Despite the pair's best efforts, the day's activity of Bandalooping (dancing on the side of a building while suspended in the air) proved to be exhausting. The evening proceeded badly as well. During dinner a strong wind kicked up and made conversation impossible. After an attempt to warm up with a swim, Des and Kasey found themselves cold and wet, huddled in a staircase. Despite the date working against them at every turn, Kasey still received a rose.

The next day Dan, James, Juan Paulo, and Bryden headed out to the Rose 'n Thorne Ranch to learn a bit of stage fighting form the talented stunt crew of The Lone Ranger. After learning to fight, shoot, and lasso, the men competed to see who could earn the title of Lone Ranger as they each attempted to rescue Des from the stunt crew. Juan Paulo put on the best performance, adding some extra flare by speaking in Spanish throughout, and stole a kiss with Des as they watched an advanced screening of the upcoming film. However, during the group activities after the film, James received that day's rose.

In an interesting turn of events, the cocktail party before the rose ceremony was canceled. Instead the guys got to hangout at an informal pool party while getting a chance to vie for Des' attention. Ben managed to further anger the other competitors when he snuck off for a quick car ride with Desiree before the party.

However, at the rose ceremony Ben was nearly eliminated. He was the last to receive a rose while neither Brandon nor Dan were given one of the coveted flowers. This hit Brandon hard and Desiree had to console him before he departed the show for good.
