LuAnn de Lesseps and Tom D’agostino's marriage is officially over.

After just seven months of marriage, the Real Housewives of New York City star and her now-estranged husband have announced that they are headed for divorce.

"It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce,” De Lesseps wrote on Twitter on Thursday, August 3, according to a report by Us Weekly magazine. "We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!”

As the magazine revealed, De Lesseps and D'Agostino have been facing rumors of an impending split for the past several weeks and in early July, a source claimed they were involved in a physical confrontation at a New York City restaurant.

As fans may recall, the ex-couple, who tied the knot on New Year's Eve in Palm Beach, Florida, denied that the incident was serious at the time, claiming that the incident was exaggerated..

"I think that they got caught in public in a fight and all of the sudden that turns into them fighting a lot,” an insider told Us Weekly at the time. "They haven’t really been fighting that much.”

D’Agostino also spoke out at the time, telling the magazine, "There is a lot of love here. We want it to succeed.”
