Singer Monica Brown might be friends with lots of the stars of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta but she has revealed she would never join the show.

She said she would also want her presence on a reality show to be a positive influence for younger women.

“I would only do a show that I could also be executive producer of because what my children see me do is important to me,” she said. “I would only do a show where I could see everything before it airs and be a full participant in what it means.”

“And my goal, if I ever were to do a television show, would be to help girls like myself or people from the communities that are similar to the world that I’m from.”

Meanwhile, she’ll be heading on The Great Xscape tour with one of the stars of the reality show, Kandi Burruss, who is a member of the girl group, Xscape.

Still, at one point Bravo executive Andy Cohen even tried to convince Brown to join the cast during its sixth season. He pointed out that she’s an “honorary housewife” because of her relationships with the women on the show.

She even turned down the show back then, even though at the time she couldn’t really point out “a good reason.”

Fans of Brown know that she is no stranger to the small screen. She has co-hosted daytime talk show, The Real, several times, and was even reportedly in the running to replace former co-host Tamar Braxton. Brown also certainly made headlines while she was there. In one appearance, she spoke on her ongoing beef with singer Brandy that has been happening since the 90s.

She responded to Brandy telling a fan, “Girl bye” when asked if Brandy would be taking part in the popular #SoGone challenge that on social media.

“I’m not bothered at all,” she said of Brandy’s comment. “The old me and the new me are two different things. This journey of celebration, empowerment and self-love that I’m on… I can’t go backwards. I think that was just a test from God for me. I’ve always thought that she was one of the most legendary people and has one of the most amazing voices…And I just think that some of it’s blown out of proportion to a degree…”

She went on to say she wants to be a good example for her children, despite any public feuds.
