Chrishell Stause has given some hints about the new character she will play on Days of Our Lives, Soap Opera Network reported on June 15.

Stause became an integral part of All My Children where she played schemer turned sweetheart Amanda Dillion until the soap opera's cancelation in 2011. Fans hoped that the Kentucky native would join the rebooted version online, but instead she signed on to Days in a yet unnamed role and will first air in mid August. She expressed excitement to SON about her impending debut on the NBC serial.

"I've been told I can say that my character has some secrets, which I think is great. And she's very opposite from ["AMC's"] Amanda, which is fun, because it's something I've never played before," she said.

The 31-year old did allow a morsel of information about who her character would be interactng with in Salem.

"I've been working a lot with Galen Gering [Rafe Hernandez] and Lauren Koslow [Kate DiMera]" she teased. "They're really cool."

The Kentucky native is joining Days at a time when the show has shown improvement in the ratings.The soap opera gained its biggest women 18-49 audience in 18 months and generated its most viewership in more than two years, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures for the week of May 27-31 from Nielsen Media Research.

On June 16, the show was awarded for its substance as the sudser won for Best Drama Series at the Daytime Emmy Awards. It was the show's first win since 1978.

"Just a moment to tell you a quick story. Ted and Betty Corday started the show in 1965. It received its only Emmy Award for best daytime show in 1975, 38 years ago. Today is breaking the ice again. Ken Corday, executive producer of DAYS, said during his acceptance speech.
