Though she guest starred in only two episodes, Hilarie Burton's character Dr. Lauren caused major havoc in the season 9 finale of Grey's Anatomy and many are asking - will she return when season 10 of the medical drama airs in the fall?

Throughout season 9 of the show, Arizona Robbins and Callie Torres' relationship fluctuated because of Arizona's ill-will toward Callie for amputating her leg while she suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Torres was, on the other hand, getting frustrated that their relationship revolved mainly around Arizona, her depression and her amputation. Once they got to a good place toward the end of the season, the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital got a good doctor that turned things around.

Lauren and Arizona had an affair in the season 9 finale and after Callie found out, the couple had an argument leaving viewers wondering if their marriage is once and for all over.

At time of publication, neither Burton nor the show's Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes addressed inquiries about the actress returning to the show. However, TVLine's Editor-at-Large Matt Webb Mitovich said on June 20 according to his research, "it pains me to report that, after snooping around some, I'm seeing no signs (yet) that lustful Dr. Lauren will be back."

Burton may also be too busy to return to Grey's Anatomy in the fall. She has a 2013 film titled Plastic Jesus in post-production and a 2013 TV movie in pre-production titled The List, according to IMDb. Production for season 10 of Greys Anatomy begins on July 16, revealed earlier in June by new series regular Camilla Luddington.

Luddington, who plays Jo Wilson on the show, is one of the stars that recently got signed on as a series regular. Also signed on are actors Gaius Charles (Shane Ross), Jerrika Hinton (Stephanie Edwards) and Tessa Ferrer (Leah Murphy).
