While there hasn't exactly been a slew of chatter lately on the upcoming season of Showtime's Homeland, recent news has surfaced that the program has attached William Abadie to guest star in a multi-episode story-arc.

According to Deadline, the Ugly Betty standout will come on board to don the role of an overly charming international journalist.

Although there weren't any further details given on the character's description, loyalists of the TV series will obviously speculate.

Carter Matt suspects that "this sort of character could ruffle a great deal of feathers on the show."

Being that Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) have had to address several international situations, the journalist could potentially be used to cross their paths, resulting in the flaring of some tempers from within the CIA.

Season 3 of Homeland will begin after the tragic terror attack that destroyed U.S. intelligence, and ignited a global manhunt for fugitive Nick Brody (Damian Lewis).

Carrie and Saul will attempt to rebuild themselves from their shattered lives. In the process, they'll be caught up in the political and media firestorm that's tied to the terror attack and the search for Brody.

Showtime's Homeland will be debut its third season on Sunday, September 29th at 9/8 p.m. Central. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular cable network series.
