Taking the stage in a flashy red tank top, Jason Derulo performed Friday for Good Morning America'Summer Concert Series in New York, surprising thousands in the crowd with his album title and release date.

The 23-year-old R&B singer revealed on Twitter Thursday that he had a huge announcement saying, "Making a huge announcement 2morrow watch @GMA's bright & early! NY I'm gonna try & take as many pix with ya'll in Red! Instagram get ready!"

The anxiously awaiting announcement was made on Friday when he revealed details of his upcoming album.

"I just wanted to announce- this is a huge announcement- I've been working on this album for about a year now," Derulo said. "And the album title is called Tattoos and it's being released in September."

Tattoos will be out in stores on Sept. 24, three days after Derulo's 24th birthday.

The singer then took a second to explain the inspiration behind his songs. When asked if his girlfriend, Jordin Sparks, was his muse for the album, he replied, "Absolutely. I always right songs based on my life and the things that I go through, so yeah, naturally she's a huge part of my life, so yes!"

The singer performed hits In My Head and The Other Side while entertaining the crowd with his hip-hop dance moves. He even showed off the "Put Your Jeans On" move and explained to the show's hosts how it's done, saying, "You're taking your leg, and you're throwing your jeans on."

From an overview angle, Central Park looked like a sea of red fish as everyone in the audience dressed up to take a picture with the main attraction.

"All my Derulers wearing RED tomorrow in Central Park I will be taking Instagrams with u guys right after my performance," Derulo tweeted Thursday.

He also promised his fans a special treat saying, "Im going to sign autographs for the first 500 #Derulers that come see me perform."

It was announced in April that Derulo would replace singer Jennifer Lopez for the GMA appearance. Derulo made sure he ranked up to the Live It Up singer, who performed at Premios Juventud on Wednesday in Miami.
