To the dismay of many of its loyalists, ABC's hit crime show, Castle, didn't send a panel to San Diego's annual Comic-Con over the weekend. However, actor James Brolin will reportedly be making his return to the show.

According to Carter Matt, Castle's (Nathan Filion) spy father should be gracing the crime novelist's presence in Season 6, which may or may not be related to a potential wedding between the former Beckett (Stana Katic).

While no further news on Brolin has been reported as of yet, the creative brass are set to delve deeper into the Esposito (Jon Huertas) and Lanie (Tamala Jones) romance. The program has also attached a newbie character in a P.I. that Alexis (Molly Quinn) meets while in Costa Rica.

In other recent news on the Castle front, Lisa Edelstein will come on board for a minimum of three episodes to play a federal agent, which could indicate that Beckett may be seriously mulling over the job opportunity presented to her in Washington, D.C.

Although no airdate has yet to be officially announced, all indications point to the show starting up again on either Monday, September 23 or the following week, stated the site.
