Buzz continues to circulate on the highly anticipated return of the BBC One hit TV series Sherlock, as it gears up for its third season.

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the role of Sherlock, gave the confirmation to Radio Times that the show wouldn't be going away any time soon, being that it now has a minimum of two more seasons left in the creative tank.

"We've agreed to two more [series] but I could get into trouble for saying that," he said.

Producer of the program Sue Vertue stated that while Sherlock would be returning for the future installments, there's still a massive amount of planning that must be done.

"I think as long as everyone wants to keep doing it, we'll keep doing it," she explained.

Cumberbatch recently put together a video for the 2013 Comic-Con in San Diego, and stated that he'd already finished the first two episodes of the upcoming series.

"I've started series three. We've done the first two episodes but we're back at the end of July with episode three. It's been so much fun and the scripts have been such a delight and I can't wait for you to see it," he added.

BBC One's Sherlock is scheduled to be making its return on Thursday, October 31. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular TV series. A trailer for the upcoming season can be viewed below.
