Lady Gaga is making her big comeback and will be performing at the 2013 Video Music Awards in Brooklyn, NY.

From the Brooklyn Promenade, MTV correspondent Sway (with the help of some fans) announced that the Grammy-winning artist would return to the stage next month.

The Little Monsters website also stated the announcement saying that she will perform her first single from her fourth studio album, ARTPOP (November 2013), which is expected to be released August 19.

"ARTPOP as they pry the single from my bleeding fingers," Gaga captioned a make-up free picture on the site. "It's a scary thing to revisit those things underneath, the pain in your past, but all I found was raw passion. I thought I was destroyed inside. I'm just ready to fight start the music."

This will be the 27-year-old singer's second performance following her hip surgery in February. On June 28, she made her first public appearance while singing the National Anthem at NYC's Gay Pride Parade's Kick-Off Rally.

Even though Gaga has not been nominated this year, she will still be making headlines. She is known for making her VMA performances memorable. In 2009, she did a blood-dripping performance of Paparazzi; in 2011, Gaga dressed up as a male (Jo Calderone) for You and I.

Other performers for the 2013 show will be announced at a later date. The Video Music Awards will be broadcast from the Barclays Center on MTV on Sunday, August 25 at 8 p.m. ET.
