Bob Saget's official cause of death led to a massive call.

Saget's bereaved family heard a heartbreaking update a month after he was found dead inside his Orlando, Florida hotel room.

In a statement to multiple news outlets - including PEOPLE - Saget's family revealed that the authorities found out that the actor died due to head trauma. The result was far from what the fans initially claimed, saying he probably died due to a heart attack.

"The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma," the Saget family said in the statement. "They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved."

Despite the saddening development, the family expressed gratitude toward everyone who gave them comfort and outpouring love.

They added that, despite the end of the authorities' investigation, they want everyone to remember the actor and the lessons he left before his death.

Saget is survived by Kelly Rizzo and his three daughters Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer - whom she shared with his ex-wife, Sherri Kramer.

Aside from the recent update, his cause of death also prompted a massive call.

One Twitter user shared a photo of her and a man who reportedly died the same way as Saget.

"The news about Bob Saget's cause of death shook me. Take head injuries seriously, even minor ones. See this handsome fella? Barely hit his head on Sunday. No blood, nothing. Wouldn't go to the hospital. Fine, until Wednesday. Then he was on life support. And then he left me," she wrote.

The same thing happened to Liam Neeson's late wife, Natasha Richardson, who died after declining to receive medical assistance when she hit her head in a skiing accident in 2009.

Bob Saget's Last Moments Explored

Before the finalization of the autopsy, the authorities revealed on January 10 that there was no evidence of drug use or foul play.

Before his passing, the actor was still able to perform during his stand-up show at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Saget also shared a selfie following his two-hour set.

One of his audience members recalled how the comedian gave his all as if he knew he would pass afterward.

"All the people were able to laugh, and that brought everyone together, just laughing over the fact that that is the part of Florida that we were all together in. His shows are just very personable, and he makes fun of himself for being a very wholesome dad and telling the jokes that he used to. It was just a really lovely show," the attendee said.
