Francesca Scorsese is speaking out after facing a wave of online bullying following news that she joined season 2 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

The 26-year-old actress shared an emotional TikTok video over the weekend, calling out cruel comments about her appearance and asking social media users to think more carefully about the impact of their words.

Francesca, the youngest daughter of legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese, said the backlash became much harsher after she reposted an article about landing the new acting role.

"It has some of the worst comments I have ever seen about me," she said in the video. The actress explained that she has long understood the criticism tied to being labeled a "nepo baby," a term often used for children of famous stars who enter the entertainment industry.

Francesca admitted her father's success opened doors for her but stressed that she continues to work hard to build her own career.

"I know I have doors opened for me," she said. "I'm still trying to do the work, I'm still going hard and being passionate and creating." However, Francesca said many comments crossed a line and focused only on attacking her looks.

According to Daily Mail, she revealed that people online compared her to "a fridge" and Miss Piggy while calling her "ugly" and "fat."

"I'm not the skinniest girl in the world. I'm chubby, I know it. But what does it matter?" she asked.

Francesca also warned about the damage online hate can cause, especially for young people already struggling with confidence or mental health issues.

"Your words have power behind them," she said. "This is the kind of thing that causes people to lose their lives."

The actress shared that she previously deleted X because of negativity and now worries that TikTok is becoming just as toxic. While she said she is used to public criticism because of her famous family, she admitted it can still feel painful when strangers focus only on appearance.

Francesca added that living in the shadow of her father's success has always been difficult. "That always overshadows me as a person," she explained, while still expressing love and respect for her family, PageSix reported.

Despite the harsh comments, many fans and celebrities rallied behind Francesca online. Actress Ashley Benson showed support by commenting, "Haters gonna hate, baby. You are a gem."

Francesca later thanked followers for the positive messages, saying she was "taken aback by the love and support."

Her casting in season 2 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith was recently announced, though details about her role remain under wraps.
