Mystery Science Theater 3000 brought the world of B-Movies to the forefront of the public consciousness when it aired from 1988-1999.

This watch-along cinema experience gave us Joel Robinson (Joel Hodgson), a janitor who is shot into space on The Satellite of Love only to be subjected to the worst dregs the world of bad movies has to offer as an experiment in the human condition performed by his maniacal corporate bosses. Accompanied by his robot companions, Tom Servo, Crow, and Gypsy, the crew would crack jokes at these terrible films' expense in order to stave off insanity.

Beloved by fans, the show found a resurgence when Jonah Ray from The Nerdist rebooted the series for future generations of bad movie watchers.

Well, good news dear friends: The show has been renewed for Season 13, and leave it to Twitter to tease the original test subject Joel's return to the franchise.

In a post made on February 24th, the official Twitter feed of MST3K sent fans into a tizzy by posting Joel's signature jumpsuit complete with a name tag reading "Robinson" on their feed.

The show has seen its share of cast changes over the years, leading to the present cast, which includes Patton Oswalt and Felicia Day as the evil scientists, and is doing the best kind of fan service by bringing the OG test subject back. Hodgson, known for his deadpan delivery and stoic demeanor, always played as the straight man to his wacky robotic creations while still delivering hysterical commentary.

Even with the new voice cast for the robots, which includes Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn, the reboot MST3K: The Return still brings all of the charm and quirk we expect from the series and the Joel cameo is only going to add to the fun.
