While promoting her upcoming film on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Wednesday, Kate Hudson talked about living in London during the royal baby coverage.

The actress has been living in London with fiancé Matthew Bellamy and their two kids while filming Good People with James Franco. When Leno asked about being there the same time Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was about to give birth, Hudson recalled what it was like.

"That was insane, actually. You can't help but follow it because it was on every news channel," she said. "That's all you saw. That was the longest labor on news. It literally was full coverage."

Hudson added that she never met the royal couple, but still has a connection to the princes. Prince William and Prince Harry stayed at her family's house in Colorado when they were children.

"I remember we were all in L.A. and they were staying with their mom (Princess Diana) at the house and we get this phone call," she explained. "My dad gets to the phone and sure enough, I think it was Prince William calling my dad to ask if he could use the RV's...he got off the phone and he goes, "That's a really well-raised boy."

The 34-year-old actress then discussed Larry David's upcoming comedy film Clear History, which will air on HBO on Aug. 10. Hudson stars as John Hamm's wife, who David tries to win over.

"It's a different concept...It's all improvise. It's not scripted at all," she said. "I'm such a huge Larry David fan that it was a no-brainer."

Clear History also stars Bill Hader, Michael Keaton, Danny McBride and Eva Mendes.
