Andrew Silverman is finally breaking his silence after finding out his pal Simon Cowell is expecting a baby with his estranged wife Lauren Silverman.

According to the real estate mogul, his primary concern is their 7-year-old son.

"My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife," Andrew told Us Weekly. "Hopefully people can respect the interest of our child during this process."

The pregnancy news has been quite a surprise to many, including Lauren's estranged husband. On August 1, the New York Post revealed that Andrew quietly filed divorce papers in N.Y.C. two weeks ago, citing adultery and naming Cowell on the documents.

"It's really a signal to the spouse who cheated that the wronged spouse is very angry and that it's going to be a very nasty, scorched-earth, high-profile litigation," divorce attorney Martha Cohen Stine explained to the Post.

Cowell and Lauren had met on vacation seven years ago at the exclusive Sandy Lane resort in Barbados. Andrew introduced Cowell to her husband.

A few months ago, Lauren posted photos of herself in a bikini, snuggling with Cowell on his yacht, with the caption, "Me and my little Simey monster." (See the photos.)

Reports on Thursday suggested that Lauren is looking to wed Cowell.

"He promised to marry her after learning she was pregnant, and she is trying to make sure she keeps his promise." a source told The NY Post on Thursday. "Simon says he will do the right thing for the baby."
