Amber Heard got bombarded with reports that she lost her Mera role in "Aquaman 2" amid the petitions to remove her from the franchise.

Depp's fans continue to come together as they aim to remove Heard from the "Aquaman" franchise. They also threatened to boycott the film if she would not be removed from the cast.

As of press time, the "Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2" on change.org is only a few hundred thousand away from 5 million.

The public rejoiced even more after Just Jared shared an article about her removal from the "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" after the recent test screening.

The report, which had since been reposted by multiple news outlets, disclosed that Warner Bros. would have reshoots for the sequel, with Nicole Kidman officially replacing her.

This supported what DC Films president, Walter Hamada, revealed when he testified during the defamation trial.

At that time, he confirmed that there were conversations to potentially recast the role. But instead of the defamation lawsuit, the talks began due to an issue of chemistry between her and Jason Momoa.

However, Heard's representative quickly set the record straight.

Amber Heard Still Part of "Aquaman 2"

In response to Just Jared's article, a representative for Heard told PEOPLE that the report was not true.

They called the report "inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane." In fact, there were reports that she would appear in the movie for a longer timeframe than previously announced.

According to the sources, Heard's Mera would now appear for about 20 to 25 minutes in the runtime. Initially, the company cut it off to 10 minutes. Warner Bros. reportedly increased her screentime despite her recent legal battle.

As a result, fans immediately trended #boycottaquaman2. Warner Bros. has not commented on the recent events yet.

Heard also opened up about her role, telling the courtroom that she was supposed to have a larger role in the installment.

"I fought really hard to stay in the movie. They didn't want to include me in the film. I was given a script and given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character ... without giving any spoilers away ... depicted two characters fighting with each other," she went on.

"Aquaman 2," officially titled "Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom," will be released on Mar. 17, 2023.
