A lot has happened and been said since Amber Heard sat down with Savannah Guthrie for an exclusive interview for NBC.

The exclusive interview comes after the "Aquaman" star loss the defamation case against ex-husband Johnny Depp in early June.

Guthrie recently disclosed that her husband had done some consulting work for the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor's legal team, which led to criticism of the Amber Heard's interview.

This happened after Guthrie met with Camille Vasquez and Benjamin Chew, members of Depp's legal team, few days after a Virginia-based jury ruled in favor of the veteran actor.

Experts later weighed in on the subject, seeking to offer their thoughts. Some say Guthrie should have declined the exclusive interview with Heard since her husband was on the other end of the line.

Guthrie's spouse, Michael Feldman, is a public relations consultant and former Democratic political aide. He was a member of Bill Clinton's presidential campaign in 1992 and has worked on high-profile initiatives during his lengthy career.

NBC News, however, defended Guthrie, telling the Daily Mail that she did state on air that her husband did some consulting work for Depp's legal business.

"She did so to be transparent because she was interviewing his clients. It made no difference to the interviews she did or our reporting."

They went on to add that each interview speaks for itself, and that before consenting to the interviews, "all parties, including Heard's and Depp's teams, were informed of Guthrie's husband's work, which was for the firm, not the company's client."

However, according to Rebecca Aguilar, head of the Society of Professional Journalists, who talked to the New York Post, Guthrie should have avoided interviewing Amber Heard.

"She could have avoided becoming a topic by letting another NBC anchor to interview the Depp team and then Ms. Amber Heard."

"Ms. Guthrie should stay away from this issue in order to demonstrate to her audience that she is fair, transparent, and ethical."

Erik Wemple, a media critic for the Washington Post, also chimed in on the topic, claiming that her spouse created a significant conflict of interest.

He mentioned Guthrie questioning Depp's legal team, saying, "That's close. The more I think about it, the more bizarre it appears."
