Sabrina Carpenter has just released her new album, emails i can't send and let's just say, we are (selfishly) thrilled she wasn't able to, because this album SLAPS.

It is a day of album releases. News has been flying about the release of Lizzo's newest album, Special, the follow-up to her breakout album. Sabrina Carpenter's album is definitely different in tone than Lizzo's upbeat slate of songs, but her heartfelt melodic musings are an open and honest force to be reckoned with.

This is the fifth full-length album created by the star. However, the former High School Musical The Musical The Series star confirmed that this album will not be like any other she has previously come out with. In an interview with British GQback when she had only released two of the songs, the star explained:

"My recent songs 'Fast Times' and 'Skinny Dipping' don't sound like anything else I've put out previously...And I think that's a good indication for what the rest of the album is going to bring. The [other] songs don't necessarily sound like those two, but there will be an unexpectedness.

"I can say that everything is based on my life, so you're going to get some specific stories and memories, [and] that is actually quite terrifying. I've experienced both me being discontent and also happy, so I want to show that. It's going to be complex."

From the first listen to the album, one word comes to mind: artistry. The young performer is no novice. From unique sounds to creative song length to the powerfully apparent heart-on-her-sleeve energy each song has, this album is nothing short of a work of creative brilliance.

We can't wait to listen to the whole thing over and over again.
