BTS members V and Jungkook went shirtless and showed off their buzzcuts ahead of their military enlistments.

On Sunday, V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, posted an Instagram story featuring a screenshot of a video call with Jungkook.

In the image, both of BTS' youngest members can be seen topless and sporting their military hairstyles as they made goofy faces.

The caption revealed that V would be enlisting first, bidding farewell before their mandatory service that is set to last until 2025.

"Hyung is going first. Have a safe enlistment tomorrow," V wrote, according to Koreaboo.

The announcement of RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook's enlistment came last month from BTS' label, Big Hit Music.

On Dec. 4, the company confirmed that the four BTS members were progressing with their enlistment procedures.

RM and V are scheduled to enlist Monday, followed by Jimin and Jungkook the next day.

The four members are expected to complete their military service in June 2025.

In accordance with South Korean law, which mandates military service for able-bodied men between 18 and 28, all seven BTS members are fulfilling their civic duty.

Currently, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga are serving their mandatory military service.

Ahead of their enlistment, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook hosted a Weverse live session, connecting with fans and expressing their gratitude and farewells.

The members assured fans they would return happy and healthy after completing their military service.

During the livestream, the members also requested that fans not visit their enlistment ceremonies.

RM and V knelt in front of the camera, emphasizing the importance of privacy for themselves, fellow recruits, and their families.

Meanwhile, a day before his enlistment, RM penned a heartfelt letter to fans, expressing his commitment to serving the nation and thanking fans for their love and support.

"To become someone who is fondly remembered by others, someone who people wait for. It may be lonely and bitter at times, but that love is already enough for me. I, of course, hope that I can become someone like that to you," BTS' leader wrote on Weverse, according to a translation by Koreaboo.

RM continued, "More than words that pass through the ears of many, our time, love, and sincerity already prove our future. I wanted to become someone who is by your side, even when I'm not. Let's work hard, living our own lives, in our own places, and I hope that when I come back, we will be an 'us' that is more generously connected in heart. Holding this small wish, I bid you a goodbye for a short while. When I come back, I'll greet you in peace again."

According to a statement from Big Hit last year, the seven members of BTS are expected to reunite as a group in 2025.
