Melania Trump's Absence From Family Christmas Photo Sparks Funny, Outrageous Reactions

Melania Trump missed her family's Christmas photo op due to her ailing mother.

Donald Trump Jr's fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, shared a family photo of the Trumps in an Instagram Story Tuesday. The snap showed Donald Trump, 77, surrounded by most of his children, including his youngest, Barron, 17, whom he shares with Melania. It was taken at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. However, the former first lady was noticeably missing. But her dad, Victor, was in the portrait, per the New York Post. 

Melania's absence sparked various reactions, with some wondering where she was and others joking that she was probably the one who took the photo. A few said they didn't care where Melania was.

"I think she took the photo," one commented. Another added, "She is taking the picture."

"The former First Lady is M.I.A. ....and no one cares," a third person wrote with a laughing emoji.

"She's in the basement kitchen making Mamie Eisenhower fudge," a fourth user added.

Some netizens also made outrageous claims about the ex-FLOTUS' absence and her relationship with Trump. They made up stories about Melania being with other men, while one mentioned divorce.

"She [is] back in Russia with her new lover Putin. I gotta wash my eyes out with bleach," one claimed. Another user alleged, "She is with her son's actual dad.. [multiple face with tears of joy emojis] she is tired of the smell. Here is Melania getting a nose full."

"'Where's Melania?' You might want to ask her divorce lawyer," another suggested.

An unnamed insider close to the former first lady spoke with Fox News Digital and explained why she wasn't in the family photo. According to the source, Melania left Mar-a-Lago earlier this week to look after her sick mother.

"Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family," the source explained. "It should be no surprise that she spent this Christmas with her ailing mother."

According to Laurence Leamer, author of "Mar-A-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump's Presidential Palace" and a longtime resident in Palm Beach, Melania's whereabouts are a mystery to the regulars at "Mar-a-Lago" because they rarely see her and nobody reportedly knows where she is. 

Despite her absence in the family photo, another source told Page Six that Melania would make more "diplomatic appearances in 2024."
