Desiree Hartsock's brother said it's "obvious" she settled for Chris Siegfried after she was dumped by Brooks Forester.

Nate Hartsock said his sister appeared in season 9 of The Bachelorette because she was desperate to get hitched.

"Desiree went on the show because she wanted to get married so badly and she wanted the family and to have kids," Nate told Life & Style. "Obviously Chris wasn't her first choice" he said, referring to Brooks Forester.

"I think it's obvious she settled for him, but Desiree is at the point where she's 'all in' with Chris, and I think he is just happy he gets to be with her," he said. "I could see a wedding happening even quicker than next summer."

An insider agreed with Nate's claims, saying the wedding might not happen at all. The source told Life & Style that when Desiree moves in with Siegfried, she will realize she settled.

"She is madly in love with the idea of love and was madly in love with Brooks, but once she and Chris live together, she'll realize she settled," the insider said. "She's deluding herself and she's deluding Chris."

Nate made his television debut during season 17 of The Bachelor when he called Sean Lowe a "playboy." Lowe met Nate during a hometown visit with Desiree's family.

Nate also appeared on The Bachelorette with his sister in episode 8. Desiree needed his guidance on who to keep and eliminate when she was down to four suitors to choose from, but Nate expressed concern about her meeting someone through a reality show.

Forester later dumped Desiree in the episode before the show's finale and after she told ABC cameras she looked forward to seeing him the most in Antigua.

"Even though I'm falling in love with the other guys, I still have deeper feelings for Brooks," Desiree confessed. "I know that I am falling in love with him. I'm in love with Brooks and I miss him every day that I'm not with him."

Forester, meanwhile admitted to his family and host Chris Harrison he "wasn't madly in love" with Desiree.

"I don't feel like I'll regret this...I think I've come to a conclusion where I don't think that Des is the love of my life," Brooks told Harrison. "I gave it everything that I had and I love so many things about Desiree, but I'm not in love with her."

Forester then told Desiree "You know I really want to be madly in love with you," before he severed ties with her.

"I didn't want to share my heart, I wanted to give it to you," Desiree told him as tears streamed down her face.

The breakup was considered one the "most explosive, dramatic and emotional moments" in the history of the Bachelorette.
