Aaron Hernandez partied recklessly at several strip clubs in New England, some of which have ties to local crime syndicates, according to The Providence Journal.

Hernandez was a regular at the gentleman's clubs the Cadillac Lounge and Club Desire in Providence, RI. Federal prosecutors have investigated both clubs recently for their ties to the New England mob.

"He's a customer at the Cadillac, a good customer," the club's owner, Dick Shappy, told The Providence Journal back in June. "They all come. Some I've never heard of. Well, (quarterback Tom) Brady never showed up."

In January, a police officer observed Hernandez and his friends staggering out of the Karma club in the wee hours of the morning. The nightclub was notorious for its gang activity and violence.

When Hernandez proceeded to urinate in the parking lot outside the club, the officer approached Hernandez and recognized the 23-year-old as the then tight end for the New England Patriots. The officer told the NFL star that he recognized him and said Hernandez should be ashamed of his behavior. The former pro athlete allegedly became belligerent and asked the cop why he was harassing him.

On June 20, Providence police Det. Capt. Michael E. Correia said officers from his department helped Massachusetts State Police detectives retrieve a video from Club Desire, as part of the investigation into Hernandez's role in the death of Odin Lloyd.

Police knew Hernandez was a regular patron at the club and presumably investigators were inquiring into whom he was with at the club, if he was there at all, on the weekend before Lloyd's June 17 murder.
