Manchester City is one of several teams in the EPL this season with a new coach, as they take on Newcastle United on Monday.

Manuel Pellegrini replaces Roberto Mancini as City's manager, and he will attempt to out-strategize Newcastle's Alan Padrew in their matchup at Etihad Stadium.

Pellegrini, who has coached Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga, said he has adjusted to his new team and is already acclimated with English Football.

''It is my first time here in England and it is a different league," he told ESPN FC. ''[Whether it is] more difficult or less difficult we will see during the year, but for me (it is) exactly the same. I worked for nine years in Europe and I saw a lot of matches in the Premier League every weekend. I played in the Champions League against English Premier League teams so I know a lot about this."

Pellegrini will face high expectations with City's second-place finish in the Barclays Premier League last season, and with the pressure to win a championship this year. The coach hopes that the more fluid style he's instilled in his team will help them reach that goal.

Padrew is also dealing with pressure, after his Newcastle team performed poorly in the preseason. Despite their mediocre play thus far, the coach said the team is better prepared for the new season than they have ever been before,

"'What I do know is the guys are fitter than they've ever been under my management and they're ready to go," he told ESPN FC.
