Lena Dunham revealed Thursday that she once asked Time Out New York's sex columnist for advice about losing her virginity.

She posted on Instagram pictures of the paper cut-outs from her inquiry. In 2005 a 19-year-old Dunham wrote to Jamie Bufalino, the sex columnist at Time Out New York, seeking advice about losing her virginity. She asked Bufalino about the "proper etiquette" that comes with going about revealing that she was still a virgin when looking to have sex with a guy:

"I'm a 19-year old girl who has been reading your column since its inception, and I've always wanted to write in. Well, I finally have a question. (What a rite of passage! I feel like I'm in a Judy Blume novel: Are You There Jamie? It's Me, Margaret.) Okay so here it is, I have a reasonable amount of sexual experience but somehow I have managed to stay a virgin (as have a few of my friends)..."

Here's Bufalino's hilarious response to Dunham:

Dunham has been busy working on the third season of Girls, the in-production teaser for which was recently released. She recently talked about Ray's sex life during a special Twitter interaction session with fans, saying,"Don't wanna spoil anything, but if yr into seeing Ray get laid you will love season 3!"

Dunham also affirmed that the show's dance-friendly vibes will go up a notch. When asked "Is there anyway you could incorporate a 'Romy and Michele-esque' dance into the coming seasons of Girls?" Dunham said, "I swear to G-d we do."

The season will premiere in January of 2014.
