Rumors have fueled that Drake and Rihanna have rekindled their romance after they were spotted on a romantic date in New York City, a day before the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. 

According to Chef Chris Coleman, Rihanna and Drake had dinner at Sons of Essex restaurant Saturday night. 

An onlooker confirmed that the couple was in the house, but decided not to post any pictures or videos. 

"Chillin on the LES w/ @hashtagnatalie with @rihanna and @Drake a few feet away. It's a good, good night with my big!" the Twitter user wrote. 

"Didn't realize my tweet would cause such an outrage! No pics of or with @Drake & @rihanna - didn't want to interrupt their dinner/night out!" she added. 

No word if Drake and Rihanna will attend the VMA's together as a couple on Sunday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn NY. 

Drake is scheduled to hit the stage. 

Enstars reported earlier that Rihanna gushed over Drake's latest song, "Hold On, We're Going Home," after she sent out a tweet, saying that it was her "favorite song" out.

"I got my eyes on you," she wrote. "Cuz you're a good girl and you know it!"

Some of the lyrics are:

The Pour it Up singer is believed to have been seeing the No New Friends rapper between her relationship with Brown on several occasions in 2010 and 2011.

"When she was dating Chris, he [asked her not to talk] to Drake," a source told Look magazine. "She really missed him in that time - yes, they went out years before but he was also a good friend to her - so calling him was one of the first things she did when she realized she was over Chris."
