NBC's The Voice enlisted high profile musicians -- Cher, Ed Sheeran, Ryan Tedder, and Miguel -- to play advisers to the star-studded team of coaches for its fifth cycle.

Cher will work with coach Blake Shelton, Sheeran with Christina Aguilera, Tedder with Adam Levine and Miguel with CeeLo Green. The advisers will help guide the coaches and help them train their respective teams.

After announcing the advisers on Monday, NBC's Alternative Programming President, Paul Telegdy, spoke about how this would charge-up the show.

"This group of wildly successful musicians will add their distinctive talents to their respective teams," he said. "I know Christina, Adam, CeeLo and Blake are very much looking forward to having them come aboard."

The team of the original four coaches will be reuniting this season. Aguilera and Green skipped the last season and were replaced by Shakira and Usher,

Green recently released his memoir Everybody's Brother, in which the soul singer writes about his journey from growing up in the South to making it in Atlanta's rap scene. He has already started hinting at the politics that's brewing on the show and how they are all planning to take Shelton down.

"Everybody wants to see Blake lose, so we are going to be ganging up on him," he told the New York Daily News.

Shelton's finalists have won the last three seasons of the show.

Past mentors for The Voice include Taylor Swift, Pharrell Williams, Hilary Scott, Sheryl Crow, Michael Buble, Billie Armstrong, Joel Madden, Mary J. Blige, Rob Thomas, Bill Withers, Jennifer Hudson, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Alanic Morissette, Jewel, Miranda Lambert and Kelly Clarkson.

The fifth season of The Voice premieres on Sept. 3 on NBC.
