Demi Lovato and Naya Rivera team up for Glee's version of the 1969 classic Beatles tune Here Comes The Sun.

"Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, and I say it's all right," they sing in unison.

Lovato, who landed a recurring role on the show, will first be introduced in the season's second episode. She will play Dani, a struggling artist from New York City and also Santana's (Rivera) love interest.

"What I want people to take from this isn't, 'Oh my god, Demi is kissing a girl,' I want people to take from it as this is actually an incredible step in our generation today where I'm able to play a young lesbian on primetime TV," she recently told On Air With Ryan Seacrest. "It's becoming the norm and I'm honored to be able to be hopefully inspiring people with my character to be who they are and not be afraid of it or ashamed."

Glee Season 5 Spoilers

Aside from a focus on a love affair between Dani and Santana, the start of the season will also focus on The Beatles. The cast will release a 14-track record that will feature every song from the show's first two episodes, including Lea Michele's emotional cover of Yesterday. Michele's version alters some of the original lyrics so that she speaks about a male instead of female.

"Why he had to go I don't know, he wouldn't say. I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday," she sings.

The melancholic tune is dedicated to actor Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the show before he died on July 13. The actor died at the age of 31 from a mixture of heroin and alcohol and was found unconscious in a Vancouver hotel room. He and Michele were dating at the time.

Glee Sings the Beatles will be released on Sept. 24, two days before season 5 of the show airs on Fox.
