With the season 6 premiere just around the corner, The Mentalist has released a sneak peek at a new game-changing scene.

As the search for Red John begins to wrap up in the first half of the season, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) will accelerate his investigation into the seven suspects from Lorelei Martins' list. Comprising the top suspects, Bret Stiles, Gale Bertram, Ray Haffner, Reede Smith, Bob Kirkland, Sheriff Thomas McAllister and Brett Partridge all have the potential to pose a very real danger to those who are trying to uncover the serial killers identity.

It is for this reason that Jane only shared the list with one person - CBI Agent Lisbon (Robin Tunney). However, his trust may have been misplaced. Due to her job, Lisbon decides to call in some favors from her team, particularly Agent Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti).

In the new clip, Lisbon puts her coworker in harms way as she goes behind Jane's back and asks Van Pelt to track the potential killer's phone. In order to do so, Lisbon must reveal the seven names, an act which could cripple Lisbon and Jane's current dynamic as well as breed confusion within the office as Van Pelt's significant other, Agent Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) is left out of the loop.
