Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesday on ABC but the third episode of the season could the biggest ones of all.

Marvel recently released the official synopsis of the respective episode, titled The Asset, and it will reportedly include a major super-villain.

"When the brilliant scientist, Dr. Franklin Hall, is kidnapped, Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. agents must race against the clock to locate him. Skye is their only way in-pushing the team to their limits when the entire plan turns upside-down-on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," the synopsis read.

Fans of the comic-book series would recognize the character of Dr. Franklin Hall, whose alter-ego is the super-villain Graviton. Ian Hart, who plays Hall, has been listed as a recurring guest star for the new series, making the change from Dr. Hall to Graviton more likely as his arc occurs over several different episodes.

The Joss Whedon show has created more new characters than it has recycled old ones. One returning character will be Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, who assembled the Avengers together for the 2012 movie of the same name. His character was killed in the film when Loki stabbed him in the back.

Gregg teased earlier in the year that Coulson's death may have been faked purely to motivate The Avengers, which would explain how he is alive and well in the show, which is set in the same world as the films and occurs after The Avengers movie.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres tonight at 8:00 p.m. on ABC. Asset will air Tuesday, Oct. 8.
