CBS 'Blue Bloods' Premiere: A New Female Partner for Jamie, A Cop Killer Drives the Reagans Apart VIDEO
The Blue Bloods premiere is only a few days away and the CBS show is promising a host of new beginnings.
Following the death of Jamie's (Will Estes) partner, the season 3 plotline wrapped up cleanly during "This Way Out." As the hit Tom Selleck series picks up again for its fourth season with "Unwritten Rules," the youngest Reagan will team up with a new cop while the death of an officer will plunge the cop-laden household into disarray.
While Erin (Bridget Moynahan) drops the charges against the department's lead suspect, Jamie will have to get used to working with a rookie named Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray, Pretty Little Liars). Unfortunately, the duo's fist assignment is to protect the man who allegedly killed one of their own.
"All of a sudden, Jamie's the training cop," Estes said of his character's new responsibility, according to TV Guide. "That was a lot of fun for me."
Working opposite a rather attractive female partner could lead to a romance for the young officers, although Estes wouldn't give away any details regarding the possibility.
"They should hit it off," Estes told TV Guide. "As much as two people who are partners can."
Blue Bloods returns to CBS on Sept. 27 at 10 p.m.
