CBS has released two new spoiler clips for How I Met Your Mother's final season.

Episode 4 airing Monday, titled The Broken Code, could mark the end for Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Ted's (Josh Radnor) friendship when the former realizes his buddy still has feelings for his fiancée Robin (Cobie Smulders).

Barney confronts Ted about being caught him holding Robin's hand at the carousel last season. When Barney arrived at the scene, he saw Ted comforting Robin when she couldn't find her locket. After dropping a bottle of scotch on the floor in shock, Ted quickly tries to cover his real reasons for being there with her.

"Nothing up, everything down, all parts of me, down," Ted stammers in the clip. "Look, you were busy, so I went to the park to help her look for this locket she buried years ago, she couldn't find it, she got upset, I held her hand. End of story."

The two then proceed to begin crying together, but not over Robin. The bottle of scotch Ted dropped was worth $600.

It was previously reported that Barney would figure out the truth in Monday's episode, and the two would have Marshall (Jason Segel) intervene via video chat.

A second clip of the upcoming episode shows Robin and Lily (Allison Hannigan) trying to figure out why Robin doesn't make friends with women easily. In fact, Lily is her only female friend.

How I Met Your Mother airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
