Austin Mahone Tour 2013 Cancelled After Hospitalized for Flu [PHOTO] Singer Apologizes
Fans hoping to catch Austin Mahone on his MTV Artist To Watch tour will have to wait a few months, as a bout with the flu has forced the pop star to cancel it entirely.
The singer posted a photo to instagram Thursday of himself in a hospital gown with the caption "I've never felt so bad."
The 17-year-old singer began mentioning bad health in tweets a few days ago, saying on Wednesday, "Back in Florida! Not feeling the best..." He still had high hopes for his tour going off without a hitch, tweeting later on in the day, "First show of the tour is tomorrow!!! I hope I feel better......."
However the singer was shortly after forced to tell his loyal fans, known as Mahomies, that his Florida tour dates in Miami and Orlando were being postponed because of his health.
"Mahomies I'm so so sorry but I have to reschedule the show tomorrow in Miami and in Orlando" he tweeted, followed by, "I can't believe this is happening its my first tour I'm so upset. I feel like I'm letting you all down," and "it's doctor's orders I have a bad flu 103 fever and I can't move. If I could go I would."
The dates were initially rescheduled for Oct. 22 and Nov. 1. The tour is now postponed indefinitely while the singer tries to recover.
His mother began tweeting for him as well after the news broke, informing fans that the tour was temporarily postponed due to the singer's health turning for the worse.
"Hey mahomies it's @michelemahone Austin is very ill. Unfortunately we are going to have to postpone the entire MTV Artist to Watch Tour," she wrote.
She also posted two apologies on behalf of her son, sayin, "Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out," and "We feel very bad but we have no choice but to POSTPONE the tour for now. Thank you for your prayers #PrayforAustin."
There has been no word on whether or not his rumored girlfriend Camila Cabelo of Fifth Harmony is by his side.
