American Horror Story: Coven creator Ryan Murphy recently revealed where the show will be going in the wake of the shocking death in the third episode.

At the end of Wednesday night's episode, titled The Replacements, Fiona (Jessica Lange) cut Madison's (Emma Roberts) throat thinking the young witch was next in line to take the reins as Supreme witch. Considering Roberts is listed in the main credits, the event was seen as shocking, especially since there's still 10 episodes to go.

Murphy discussed the development with Entertainment Weekly and teased what viewers should expect the characters to do with Madison's body.

"Well, I mean, yes, she is dead. "The funny thing about a horror show to me is that anybody can die at any time. I love that." he explained. "All I wanna say is wait 'til you see what happens to the body. Sh-t goes down. When you see episode 4 and you see what Spalding [Denis O'Hare's mute butler] did to the body, you'll be like 'Oh, okay I get it. Not only do I get it, but I'm very disturbed.'"

There is also a scene in the promo for episode 4 that features a hand rising from underneath the ground. Assuming it's Madison's hand, she may still be alive after all.

Episode 4, titled Fearful Pranks Ensue, will also feature Madame LaLaurie (Kathy Bates) being confused about Halloween. The immortal socialite is used to a Halloween involving bonfires to keep spirits away so she has a difficult time adjusting to modern-day traditions.

Murphy explained that they would be doing a tribute to Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett) and white zombies. He teased that viewers will witness the return of Madame LaLaurie's three daughters, this time in zombie form.

American Horror Story: Coven airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
