Prince Harry attended his nephew Prince George's christening on Wednesday sans his long-time girlfriend Cressida Bonas as she was excluded from the guest list, People reported.

Previous reports stated that Bonas was invited to the very private and intimate family event but didn't RSVP right away. Mail Online quoted a source saying she was "shy" and nervous about attending an event that would receive massive media attention. However, an insider close to the family told the magazine that the speculation was false.

Cressida Bonas' Fashion Style Being Put Under A Microscope Amid Likely Engagement?

"It was always so unlikely that she would be invited. To say she is shy and mulling it over is rubbish," the source said, while another insider added, "If she went to this totally private service, it would be tantamount to saying they were about to be engaged."

Only 22 people were invited to the baptism, held at Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace. Those in attendance included Prince George's immediate family, close friends and godparents. Shortly before the ceremony, the names of the seven people who would hold the coveted title were released -- Oliva Baker, Emilia Jardin-Paterson, Earl "Hugh" Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel, Zara Tindall and William van Custem.

Among those in attendance for the 45-minute service were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's siblings -- Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton -- Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowels, Michael Middleton, Carlole Middleton and James Middleton.

Archbishop of Caterbury Justin Welby conducted the ceremony.

"What a treat; what an amazing gift; what wonderful times that you will have," he said in a video released on Tuesday, about having the honor to oversee the christening. "There'll be great times and tough times - there always are with children. Through Christening, you're bringing God into the middle of it all."
