Prince Harry's romance with model Cressida Bonas is getting pretty serious, as she was invited to "one of the biggest royal events of the year"-- Prince George's Christening, Mail Online reported Sunday.

Bonas was one of 60 guests invited to what is supposed to be a very private event, and Prince Harry is "anxious that she is seen at his side." The Christening is scheduled to take place at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace. Guests will then have tea at Clarence House.

The royal family extended an invitation to the 24-year-old, but she may decline because she's very shy and a little unsure about being in the spotlight. An insider who is close to the couple said, "She's very nervous, about everything, but Prince Harry is being very protective of her and wants her there."

Spending time with her boyfriend's family could mean the couple is inching their way closer to an engagement, according to reports.

A source told Us Weekly, "He loves her-- they're so compatible. Cressie is very laid-back and he likes that. If all goes well I'm 100 percent sure they'll be engaged next year."

Kensington Palace has not yet confirmed names of guests who were invited, or the names of Prince George's godparents. Many are assuming that Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton will have her sister, Pippa Middleton, by her side. She may bring along her boyfriend, stockbroker Nico Jackson. They're brother, James Middleton, is also said to be on the guest list.

Prince Harry and Bonas have been staying quiet and private about their relationship since they started dating about a year and a half ago after his cousin -- who is also Bonas' best friend -- set them up.
