On the next episode of Glee, Kurt (Chris Colfer) will find himself at odds with guest star Adam Lambert's character.

Lambert will play Elliott "Starchild" Gilbert, a New Jersey native who auditions for a new band being put together by Kurt. The American Idol alum told Entertainment Weekly that Kurt and Starchild would not see eye to eye at first.

"As far as the character goes, at first Kurt and Starchild don't quite click, but then they click," he revealed. "It's definitely a work in progress."

Lambert is featured in the promo for episode 4, titled A Katy or a Gaga. The singer, who came in second on the eighth season of American Idol, sings Marry the Night by Lady Gaga when auditioning for Kurt.

Lambert previously revealed that Starchild would not make it past the audition because of his over-the-top theatrics.

"He really reminds me of myself maybe seven years ago," he admitted. "He comes to the audition in a full costume and makeup, and REALLY over the top, and gets cut, because he's told that it's too much."

Though his previous comments suggest that Lambert won't be long for the show, his recent comments about his relationship with Kurt being a "work in progress" suggest he may be on the show for a while. This is one of Lambert's first acting roles.
