Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland will be appearing in Dumb and Dumber 2, the highly anticipated sequel to 1994's Dumb and Dumber.

Holland announced that he had been invited to be part of the film to Texas radio station KRLD-FM 105.3 recently.

"I was just going out there to have fun," Holland revealed. "And next thing I know, they were like, 'We're going to actually put you in the movie and you're going to be in the opening scene.'"

The pitcher, who is a big fan of the 1994 comedy starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, said that his experience on the set was a good one.

"As far as the day went, it was unbelievable, out and about with Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, having an unbelievable time," Holland raved. "I don't really want to say too much except for keep your expectations high cause this movie is seriously going to be funny."

Now that the Dumb and Dumber sequel has begun filming, new details have slowly been leaking out about the film. Carrey and Daniels filmed a few scenes recently in Marietta, Ga. featuring their characters Lloyd and Harry driving a Zamboni.

The plot of the sequel will involve Harry and Lloyd tracking down one of their children in the hope of scoring a new kidney. The film picks up a full 20 years after Dumb and Dumber, with the mentally limited characters managing to stay as dumb as ever.

Dumb and Dumber 2, stylized as Dumb and Dumber To, does not have a scheduled release date yet but it is expected to be released in theaters in 2014.
