After months of speculation, it is apparent that The CW's new show The Originals, the spinoff series of the very popular Vampire Diaries will have a crossover episode.

During the last episode of the Vampire Diaries, after arriving back to town, Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) revealed he wasn't staying long to his girlfriend, Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola).

Lockwood made it abundantly clear that he still has unfinished business with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), even if it costs him his relationship with Caroline. The two called it quits when Lockwood proclaimed that his desire for revenge was too strong, according to The International Business Times.

Although it has already been speculated by viewers that Tyler could be making an appearance on The Originals, Lockwood confirmed it to Entertainment Weekly.

Unfortunately, EW could not say if the move will be permanent or in what episode Lockwood would first appear. The source did say that Lockwood would not know about Haley (Phoebe Tonkin) being pregnant with Klaus' child.

In The Vampire Diaries, the recurring werewolf character, Hayley helped Lockwood in his battle with Klaus last season. The two had some potential to spark a love connection but Lockwood was faithful to Caroline.

"I just want to say that everything will be explained, and I think Tyler will be good once he shows up to 'The Originals. I think everybody will be happy with Tyler's reasoning when they see what he's been up to and what he has planned."

Fans will be very interested to see how this new love triangle progresses.

The Originals next episode, Fruit of the Poisoned Tree, airs Tuesday Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest info on this series.
